Why Personal Development?

Featured

It is my opinion that your life will only grow as much as you do. You cannot expect to see improvement and growth in your own life if you are not willing to go to work on the root cause of your current circumstances: yourself. Personal responsibility is seriously lacking in our society, but that doesn’t mean that we still aren’t responsible for where we are today. Our life is a culmination of choices compounded over time that form our current circumstances.

Want to change your circumstances? Change your choices.

Want to change your choices? Change who you are as a person.

This is a lesson I first learned almost 7 years ago and continue to learn each and every day. It is something I am passionate about not only in my own life but in the lives of others. I have SEEN what personal development can do for your life and I want everyone to experience the incredible benefits!!

This blog is meant to be a guide to your own success in life no matter which path you are wanting to take. It all begins with you!

Mental Laws 101

One of the most fascinating topics in the world to me is the topic of Mental Laws. Perhaps you are familiar, or perhaps you have never heard of them. This post is directed to the latter.

We have all heard of physical laws — the law of gravity, for example, is the reason we are all firmly planted here on planet earth and not flying around like astronauts.

Or how about, “Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.” Ever heard of that one? That would be one of Newton’s Laws of Motion.

The physical laws are in play all the time, whether we are aware of them or not. Did you spend your early childhood years flying around the house until one day someone informed you of the Law of Gravity and you suddenly became sucked to the ground like the rest of us?

Of course not. The Law of Gravity has ALWAYS played a role in your life, even before you were aware of its existence.

One of my favorite books of all-time is Maximum Achievement by Brian Tracy. Within that book one of my favorite chapters is entitled 7 Laws of Mental Mastery. It fascinated me, astounded me, blew my mind and left me searching for more. Before picking up that book I had never heard of such laws but now that I have I could not doubt their existence even if I tried… they just make sense.

Many of these laws were written over 2000 years ago and, back then, were only taught in special schools called Mystery Schools. The students of these schools would undergo years of study in which they would slowly be introduced to these laws. They were not shared with the general public because the leaders felt they were so powerful that most would misunderstand and misuse them.

Interesting, isn’t it?

Ever been thinking about a friend you haven’t heard from in a while and suddenly the phone rings and its them on the other line, or you log into facebook and have a private message from them? That is the Law of Attraction.

Or how about the Law of Cause and Effect — also known as the Law of Sowing and Reaping. Your actions today directly influence the results you will receive in the future. You get from life what you put into it. Its as simple as that.

The Law of Belief is another fun one — it states that whatever you believe, with feeling, becomes your reality. Hmmm… am I losing you on this one? Think about it for a moment: People tend to have one of two views on life… either they have a positive outlook that the world is a generally good place with good people and good things, or you have a negative view that the world is out to get you.

Have you ever noticed that people who believe that the world is out to get them end up getting “got” on a fairly regular basis? While there are others who have a positive view on life and seem to go from day-to-day fairly happy carefree.

Now I will clarify that we live in a sinful world and bad things do and will happen to everyone at some point in their life — but having a positive outlook will greatly enrich your experience. Don’t believe me? Give it a try for 30 days and let me know how it works out for you.

My guess is because you are thinking in a more positive matter you will subconsciously be putting out positive signals to others around you. People will be nicer, which will increase your belief which will compound again and again and before long you will find you are having many more GOOD days than bad ones.

Mental laws are something you will hear about a lot on this blog, because I believe they are fundamental to the world of personal development. Personal Development begins in your mind, and knowledge and understanding of the mental laws help prepare your mind to take in what you learn.
